What is Growing Roots' Camp Program?
At our camp, we provide a unique and tailored adventure designed especially for children and teens with disabilities. We understand that overnight stays away from home can be rare, which is why we’re so excited to offer this amazing opportunity for kids to spread their wings in a fun and supportive setting.
Our camp is all about fostering independence, building confidence, and having a blast! With dynamic activities and a vibrant environment, your child will have the chance to make meaningful friendships and create lasting memories. We’re here to make sure every camper feels included, safe, and empowered to enjoy themselves to the fullest.
We proudly welcome children and teenagers, ages 4 to 23, with a wide range of physical, developmental, sensory, and intellectual disabilities. Our dedicated team works closely with each family to accommodate every camper’s individual needs, ensuring a positive, inclusive experience for all.
Is transportation provided, and what is the ratio of the support provided?
We provide pick-up during the morning on the first day of the camp, from the participant's residence to the campsite. We also provide drop-offs at the participants' residences at the end of the camp.
Our camp provides 1:1 support for campers who require individualised assistance and attention. Dedicated staff members are assigned to work closely with specific campers to ensure their safety, well-being, and participation in all camp activities. Our goal is to provide personalised support tailored to the unique needs of each camper, fostering a positive and inclusive camp experience for all participants.
What safety measures are in place at the camp?

Our facility is staffed 24/7 by trained professionals, with thorough emergency procedures in place to keep everyone safe. We’re proud to offer fully accessible facilities, along with personalized accommodations that create a secure and welcoming environment for all.
We also have an onsite paramedic ready to provide immediate medical assistance if needed. Every member of our team is highly qualified in the disability sector and holds first-aid certifications, so you can rest assured your child is in good hands. Before camp begins, we conduct detailed risk assessments to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for every participant.
